Orient Star. Co-founder

Our Story

ORIENT STAR was founded in July 2006 and start the business as ORIENT STAR ELECTRICAL as sole proprietorship company in Sri Lanka to cater industrial electrical market.

Mainly distribute electrical switchgears, accessories to market and locally manufactured power distribution panels, motor control centers, tray Trunk etc. in 2007, management has identified more opportunities in hardware field and founded ORIENT STAR ENGINEEING TOOLS as a sole proprietorship company in said year.

In 2011 management has taken a decision to established a new company called “ORIENT STAR INTERNATIONAL (PVT) LIMITED” to make the international business such as import & exports, projects etc., The electrical industry as a whole was totally dependent on securing all the material required to complete projects from foreign suppliers.

With new marketing concepts, Orient Star expanded its activities to include a commercial section to supply electrical goods and equipment whole over the country covering dealer network and projects. In 2011, the management of Orient Star identified a need to manufacture electrical distribution boards locally and the company implemented an expansion program to maintain the quality, dedicated to manufacturing distribution boards, distribution pillars and motor control centers for the contracting community.

Throughout its life, the company management has implemented regular expansion Programs to modernize the operation embracing the changing technology in the Electrical industry in an endeavor to maintain the market edge required to ensure the company’s success. The company employ’s in excess of 20 permanent professional, technical, administrative, supervisory and skilled members of staff and has a policy of whenever possible employing from the local employment market.
